Table grapes from Australia have been reaping the rewards of high quality and a spread out season in export markets this year, but the trade has hit a snag recently with a shortage of polystyrene boxes.

Most importers in Asia require the foam cartons, as opposed to cardboard cartons, and a shortage has meant they are being rationed out to exporters, reported the ABC.

“There’s not many importers there that that accept them in the cardboard cartons, so it’s basically polystyrene or no export really at this stage,” said grape grower Nelson DiCheria.
