New Zealand Korea flags good

Discussions for a New Zealand-South Korea free trade agreement will take another step next week when a high-level New Zealand business delegation travels to Seoul for roundtable talks.

The talks will take place over 9-10 June, and is co-organised by the New Zealand International Business Forum (NZIBF) and the Korean International Trade Association (KITA).

“This is the largest delegation of New Zealand business leaders to have visited Seoul and their visit takes place as negotiations get underway for a free trade agreement between the two countries,” NZIBF executive director Stephen Jacobi said in a press release.

“Korea is already New Zealand’s ninth largest trading partner. We believe there is capacity to grow this relationship even further and business needs to play a leading role in making that happen.”

New Zealand’s delegation will consist of 33 members, including a high-level representative from kiwifruit marketer Zespri and several government departments. South Korea’s delegation will have 36 members.
