Port of Antwerp

Representatives from Antwerp Port Authority have set off on a 10-day trade mission to China as part of a bid to gain greater recognition and expand market share in the Far East.

The delegation, headed by Port alderman Marc Van Peel, set off on 10 June and will visit a range of ports and cities to meet business leaders as part of the Antwerp Port Authority's 'Im-Pact on China' programme.

Mr van Peel will lead the group of customs service representatives and private businesses to Tianjin, Suzhou, Shanghai, and Beijing, as well as to a meeting with authorities in Ningbo to further strengthen their relationship and build on last year's treaty of friendship.

From 18-20 June, the trade mission will finish the visit by moving to the Logistics Fair in Beijing, where delegates will attend a reception organised by the Belgian embassy.
