Enza International has announced that it is following up its sponsorship of the Enza Jazz Apple Cycling team by backing talented young New Zealand triathlete Michael Kelly.

In a statement, the group said that it is supporting Michael to maximise his potential, and become another success story in New Zealand's 'illustrious triathlon community'.

The group opted to sponsor the secondary-school athlete after his impressive performance in coming 19th at the 2009 Bonita Ironman event, up from 64th place in 2008, with Michael also heading for the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii this year after only two years in the sport.

'Michael represents many of the values that we look for at Enza,' saidmarketing manager Campbell Naish. 'Not only is he a fantastic athletecommitted to improvement but he is a fine role model and ambassador whoworks with community groups and shares his experiences through his tworadio segments each week. We are pleased to be working with him.'

The group is following in the footsteps of Turners and Growers, Enza's parent company, which supports New Zealand triathletes Jo Lawn and Kieran Doe through the Bonita brand

'Currently the women of the Enza Jazz Cycling team are in Canada wrapping up a very successful North American campaign.
