Vietnamese exports to the US are expected to pick up slightly this year following four consecutive months of growth in revenue to the country, according to Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade.
This growth has led to estimations of trade hitting US$12.7bn this year, the Ministry said, up from US$12bn in 2008.
Agricultural products such as bananas and coconuts have been among the top-performing items, while the re-opening of the US market to dragon fruit also provided a boost to agricultural revenues.
Top performing export categories for Vietnam included garments, wood and wooden furniture and electronics, according to the Ministry.
