India apples

The usual August drop in Indian apple prices is expected to falter this year on the back of low production from the northern state of Himachal Pradesh.

Prices will likely stay high until October, when the Kashmir apple crop begins to hit the market in large volumes, reported FnB News.

“Production of apples is likely to dip to 250,000 tonnes this year from 594,000 tonnes in the last year,” said A Dwivedi, director of Dev Bhumi Cold Chain.
