US-based Monsanto Company has revealed that long-serving executive vice-president and chief financial officer Terry Crews is to retire from the group on 30 November this year.

Mr Crews, a 32-year industry veteran, will be replaced by current executive vice-president of strategy and operations Carl Casale, effective 1 September 2009.

'I'm very proud to have been a part of the spectacular success of Monsanto,' said Mr Crews in a statement. This company has a bright future with strong investments in places that can make a difference for farmers, our people and our shareowners.'

His achievements have not onlywon him the gratitude of our employees and shareholders, but alsorecognition as a highly-regarded business leader within ourorganization as well as the business and investment community.

'While werespect and understand his personal desire to spend more time with hisfamily, he'll be greatly missed,' Mr Grant added.
