The US has agreed to resume imports of South Korean tangerines and apples later this year, KBS World reported.
The South Korean National Plant Quarantine Service said the US had agreed to the move following talks held in Oregon last week.
Tangerines from Korea had been shipped to the US from 1995 to 2002, when an outbreak of citrus canker in Korea prompted the suspension of imports.
The plant quarantine agency said exports would resume because the chance of the disease being spread through shipped tangerines was unlikely.
The agency also said the two countries had agreed to lift trade barriers preventing Korean apples being imported by October this year.
