Port of Hamburg inland containers

Businesses related to the Port of Hamburg will be present on a joint stand at the transport logistic China trade fair, which takes place on 8-10 June this year in Hamburg's partner city Shanghai.

The exhibition booth, organised by Port of Hamburg Marketing, will serve a number of companies under the port umbrella including Brunsbüttel Ports, Buss Group, Gerlach Zolldienste, Hamburger Hafen und Logistik, IGS Logistics Group Holding, Saco Shipping, Straightwat Finland, TCO Transcargo and HWF Hamburgische Gesellschaft für Wirtschaftsförderung.

Marking the fourth time that Port of Hamburg Marketing has attended the event, its presence is designed to create a platform for establishing new business contacts with partners and customers in the import, export, port and transport sectors, while also promoting the efficiency and flexibility of the port and its related operations.

'Asia, led by China, is by far the most significant market partner for the Port of Hamburg in the container handling segment,' said Port of Hamburg CEO Claudia Roller. 'One out of three containers handled in Hamburg comes from or goes to China.

As Europe's leading port, the Hamburg hub handles substantial volumes of cargo to and from China – so-called transhipment cargo – in the feeder traffic with neighbouring European countries, mainly in the Baltic region,' Ms Roller added.
