Maersk Line has announced the appointment of Thomas Knudsen as regional head of its Asia Pacific business, responsible for the execution of its day-to-day operations in southeast Asia as well as Australia and New Zealand.
Mr Knudsen, who is based in Singapore, will assume his new role on 1 November this year, and will report to Maersk Line's chief commercial officer Hanne Sorenson.
'Thomas Knudsen brings with him 20 years of experience within the A.P. Møller-Maersk Group,' said Ms Sorenson. 'I am confident he is the right person to steer our Asia Pacific business, an integral part of our global liner activities.
'His knowledge of the shipping industry, combined with his leadership qualities, will ensure continued customer and on-time focus in this region,' she added.
Mr Knudsen will take up the role having left his position as the head of Maersk Line in east and central China.
