California-based company Well-Pict Berries will unveil two new berry varieties at its stall at the 2010 PMA in Orlando, which starts 16 October.

According to a press release the company has developed a new variety of strawberry that produces large late-season berries.

“These superior plants are already outperforming expectations,” said Well-Pict sales manager Dan Crowley. “The bigger strawberries will make for even more beautiful displays this fall, which means even higher sales in produce departments featuring Well-Pict Berries.”

Also on display will be a raspberry variety the company has recently developed to produce a larger berry with increased flavour.

Mr Crowley said both new varieties will be on display and available for tasting at this year’s PMA.

“We’re thrilled to have our new varieties ready for people to enjoy at this year’s show.” he said. “It takes a lot of time, money and energy to develop superior varieties like these, and we think people will not only be able to see, but also taste the difference.”
