Berry Gardens has announced that a range of its fruit has helped contribute to a gold medal win at this year's Chelsea Flower Show in the UK, as part of the Waitrose and NFU: Championing British stand.

The stand, which was designed by award-winning florist Penny Riley, featured Berry Gardens produce such as Elsanta Strawberries, Driscoll Jubilee Strawberries and Driscoll Maravilla Raspberries.

British growers were well represented on the stand, with the range of seasonal fruit, vegetables, cut flowers, salads and herbs helping the stand to its 15th consecutive gold medal.

The berries from Berry Gardens which were a prominent part of the display were provided by one of the cooperative growers, Hugh Lowe Farms based in Mereworth, Kent.

'There is a lot of hard work and dedication from our growers and seeing it rewarded by the judges at one of the leading events in the horticultural calendar is recognition of that work and high praise indeed,' said Paul Kelsey, chairman of Berry Gardens.
