E.coli

China is redoubling efforts to prevent Europe's deadly E.coli outbreak from entering China, according to Crienglish.com.

Spokesperson for China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, Li Yuanping, told the website China would stop air-supplies of salad vegetables from Germany, and would implement strict inspections of people and vehicles travelling from affected countries in Europe.

Li Yuanping said so far no cases of E.coli had been reported in China. But doctors are warning the public to be careful about eating uncooked food.

German authorities have blamed domestically-grown bean sprouts for the outbreak, which, to date, has claimed 37 lives and sickened thousands.
