Key new speakers have been announced for Asiafruit Congress 2011, covering a range of fields from supply to new market opportunities.

Asiafruit Congress, Asia’s leading fresh produce business event, takes place on 7-9 September 2011 at Hong Kong’s Convention and Exhibition Centre.

This year’s conference features a spotlight on Peru’s role as a supplier to Asia, with Jesica Larovere Frigo of leading table grape exporter Pedregal (Peru) sharing insights into the development of the South American country’s grape exports into Asia, which grew by more than 40 per cent in 2010/11.

Hiroaki ‘Don’ Okazoe, managing director of major Japanese importer IPM Nishimoto, will also offer a perspective on the developing trade in Peruvian asparagus and mangoes to Japan, and the opportunities more generally in this market.

Other highlights include a look at the changing dynamics in Asia's apple markets, which are creating new opportunities for suppliers and for varietal diversification. Steve Leung from Alfa Fruit Packers (China) and Keith Sunderlal from The SCS Group (India) will be on hand to provide insiders’ views on how the apple industries are changing in China and India respectively, and what this all means for global suppliers.

Besides hearing from the best in the industry, Asiafruit Congress delegates can take advantage of numerous networking opportunities that allow them to make quality, lasting business contacts in this lucrative market.
