The LINKFresh Business Management suite, software provided by UK-based Anglia Business Solutions specifically for managing fresh produce supply chains, has been selected by major vegetable and potato supplier QV Foods to manage its growing and packing operations.

The system will be deployed at QV Foods' headquarters in Holbeach, as well as being rolled out at other sites operated by the group and related companies Fresh Approach Produce and Europa Produce.

Seed potato specialist Pseedco, also part of the QV Foods group, already employs a software platform which, like LINKFresh, is based on Microsoft's Dynamics NAV platform.

The new software itself will initially encompass produce trading, forecasting, EDI, packaging inventory and sales order processing as well as the core ledgers and financial functions.

Chris Rimmer, finance director at QV Foods, said the group had been looking for a fully integrated, industry-specific solution which could help to drive its business further forward by providing one source of accurate, up-to-date information across all of its businesses.

'In particular, we require a system that satisfies our current, and continually increasing, transactional volumes and provides resilient, functional foundations for our growing and diverse business,' he commented.

'The LINKFresh system from Anglia is recognised as an industry-leading application and will provide us with the level of transactional efficiency, clarity and timeliness of management reporting we need to improve our competitiveness in this sector.'

Anglia's commercial director Robert Frost, said his company was 'very pleased' to be working with QV Foods.

'QV is an ambitious company that has experienced rapid growth recently,' he said. 'The LINKFresh deployment will enable them to leverage the power of a leading-edge business management solution as an aid to realising their full commercial potential and facilitating further growth.'
