During the opening days of the month, Dutch vegetable seed group Rijk Zwaan put on demonstrations of its Salanova lettuce to several different target groups in Thailand.
The first event took place on 2 March in Bangkok at vegetable processing company ACK Hydrofarms, Thailand's market leader in processed lettuce, with some 25 major players from the foodservice and catering sectors attending.
Visitors enjoyed a presentation on the convenience of Salanova and the many possibilities it provides, with the highlight being a demonstration by Malaysian chef Wilson who inspired attendees with several unusual and creative Salanova-based recipes, such as a Salanova butterhead smoothie, a ‘family’ salad and a ‘hot & spicy’ salad, the group revealed.
On 3 March, Salanova’s potential was presented to Thai consumers, with chef Wilson once again holding demonstrations, this time in two different branches of the TOPS Food Hall supermarket chain.
"Consumers in both locations were noticeably very impressed by the ease with which Salanova can be prepared and the wealth of culinary opportunities it offers," Rijk Zwaan added.
