Pakistan is failing to take advantage of huge export potential to Russia due to a lack of banking channels, reports www.brecorder.com.

Admad Jawad at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce said a Pakistan-Russia Horticulture Business Forum should be established to boost fruit shipments to this market, worth some US$5.77bn, the article said.

'Our focus should be on Russian and CIS markets with regard to fruits and vegetables, which are ready to absorb as much as we could export,' Jawad is quoted as saying.

He said Russia could become Pakistan's largest fruit export market if banking channels between the two countries were improved to facilitate import and export payments.
