French retailer Carrefour is apparently planning to open a total of 200 Carrefour Express stores in Poland this year, according to industry analyst Planet Retail.
The move would more than double the number of outlets operated by the French-owned retailer in the country.
The company had 164 franchised Carrefour Express stores in Poland at the end of 2011, Planet Retail reported.
Carrefour's net sales in Poland amounted to €1.9bn last year.
As Polish News Bulletin recently reported, Carrefour Poland is currently focusing on expanding its franchise network of small shops to smaller towns in the country.
