Dutch fresh produce marketer Zon Fruit & Vegetables has reached a deal with pepper producer association Pamosa to form a new joint venture to supply, sell and market the vegetable.
The companies, which have worked together for a number of years, said the new entity would aim to develop a highly efficient, market-oriented commercial strategy, promising new investment in areas such as packaging and marketing concepts.
The establishment of the joint venture follows the launch of a strategic reveiw by Zon called Huis in Orde (House in order) and aimed at increasing the level of sophistication within the Dutch pepper sector.
Pamosa's 46 member growers manage a combined total of 242ha of pepper production in growing regions throughout the Netherlands.
On 1 May 2012, the group registered itself as a limited company.
