Hein Deprez, the founder of leading European fresh produce supplier Univeg, has reacquired control of the group, according to a company press release.
The Deprez family, together with the current management, has reportedly partnered with a consortium of European and South African families to acquire 100 per cent of Univeg.
Hein Deprez is set to become executive chairman, with Francis Kint taking on the role of chief executive office and Koen Sticker that of chief financial officer. All other key management positions will remain unchanged, according to the group.
During the announcement, Deprez gave thanks to the outgoing CEO and CFO Theo de Kool and Davide Bustreo for their achievements.
'The Univeg Group remains committed to its long-term growth strategy,' he went on, 'whilst continuing to refine the quality of both our produce and our services for our customers and suppliers in Europe and throughout the world.'
