Bonduelle

French fresh convenience giant Bonduelle has announced an increase in turnover of 1.3 per cent for the year to 30 June 2014, to €1.92bn.

After adjustment for currency exchange rates and scope of consolidation, organic growth reached 5.5 per cent compared with 1.9 per cent the previous year.

The group attributed this strong growth to its resilience in Europe, which saw Bonduelle return to growth of 2.3 per cent compared with a loss of 0.8 per cent last year, as well as outstanding growth outside Europe of 12.4 per cent against 8.6 per cent last year.

The company's president, Christophe Bonduelle, commented: 'This full year, negatively affected by the exchange rate volatility and the outcome of the procedure laid down by the European Commission, nevertheless marks an important step towards our VegeGo! vision for 2025, with outstanding growth in turnover and current operating profitability at constant exchange rates and a significant improvement in our financial structure. 2014-2015 should again show a profitability growth, our sound financial health allowing us to consider new development projects as shown by our acquisition project in western North America.'
