Munich-based supplier Gebrüder Bagusat, which produces and markets smoothies under the Chiquita brand, has added to its range of organic smoothies in Germany with the launch of a special Christmas-branded line ahead of the busy winter marketing period.

The Chiquita Organic Wintersmoothie contains a mix of banana, sweet cherry and a dash of Acai berry designed, the marketer says, to offer consumers embarking on the traditional rush of gift shopping a helping of relaxation and invigoration – presumably in equal measure.

The smoothie will be available in 200ml and 650ml screw-top bottles, priced €1.69 and €3.49 respectively and both featuring a cartoon Father Christmas.

“The little Santa Claus makes the new Bio-Smoothie an ideal Christmas greeting for example as a Nikolausgeschenk (St Nicholas Day present) to colleagues in the office,” said a spokesperson for Bagusat.

The company is also planning to give away prizes including bikes, bags, toasters and more to one in every ten people buying a Chiquita organic smoothie during the upcoming promotional period.
