Brittany-based farming cooperative Triskalia, a specialist in canned and frozen vegetables, has just obtained the Agri Confiance certification for its growers' efforts concerning environmental protection, traceability and quality.
The certification, which came following eight days of auditing by independent controller Afnor, also responds in a concrete way to the expectations of today's consumers.
The standard especially relates to good agricultural practices, waste management and risk control. The broadening of the standard to include environmental concerns is a new step, fitting in neatly with Triscalia's so-called 'Positive Planet' approach to sustainable development and ecologically intensive agriculture.
