Carrefour has announced an Italian expansion with the acquisition of 16 Il Centro stores located in the provinces of Florence and Arezzo, and one store of the same chain located in the province of La Spezia.
In total, the 17 outlets offer a total sales area of more than 4,000m2.
This acquisition, which forms part of Carrefour’s multi-format strategy, will enable the Group to strengthen its presence in central and northern Italy, it reported.
The stores, which have been completely renovated, will open to the public by the end of the year as Carrefour Express, the brand of the Group’s convenience stores which already has over 600 outlets in Italy.
