European fruit laser labelling specialist Laser Food has announced the signing of a marketing agreement with US-based JBT Corporation, which will expand the availability of the company’s cost-effective, eco-friendly alternative to traditional fruit labels.

Under the terms of the agreement, JBT Corporation, with sales in more than 100 countries, will build and market Laser Food’s Laser Mark labelling system, making the etching technology available to fruit producers worldwide.

In addition, the agreement enables the labelling machines to be built closer to major fruit production markets.

“Through the agreement, this advanced technology will become accessible to fruit growers worldwide with local support from JBT,' said Laser Food managing director Jaime Sanfelix.

Under the agreement, JBT Corporation will market Laser Food’s Laser Mark technology world-wide with the exception of some countries where Laser Food is already selling.

US-based JBT Corporation is a leading global supplier of integrated solutions for the food processing industry. Amongst other services, the company is a prime solution and equipment provider within the fruit and vegetable industry.

The technology, which the group says offers a cost-effective, eco-friendly alternative to traditional fruit labels, works by removing the pigment from a minuscule area of fruit surfaces and applying contrasting liquid allowing producers to inscribe almost any form of logo.
