Moroccan imports

Spanish fresh produce imports continued to grow during November 2014, with shipments into the country up 17 per cent in volume and 20 per cent in value, when compared with the same month of 2013.

Total fruit and vegetable imports came to 205,474 tonnes, according to the Directorate General of Customs, at a value of €138m.

Vegetable imports in November increased 21 per cent in volume, totaling 103,588 tonnes, and 5 per cent in value to48 million.

There was, however, a slight decrease in the main vegetable imported by Spain, the potato, with 56,033 tonnes representing a drop of 1 per cent.

Imported fruits through the month increased by 13 per cent in volume to 101,866 tonnes, at a value of €90.1m, up 31 per cent year-on-year.
