Italian packaging specialist Ilip is preparing to establish a new office in the UK, it has emerged, as the company looks to repeat its recent successful expansion in Spain with a redoubling of its efforts on what is already one of its most important export markets.
Ilip currently supplies a number of major retail customers in the UK but it is understood that the firm has identified new opportunities to grow its business there.
“Last year was not an easy one, due to climatic and macro-economic factors that affected producers,” commented Roberto Zanichelli, the group’s sales and managing director.
“From our point of view, despite a fall in profit margins, we achieved satisfactory results in terms of volume and value, thanks to growth on several markets like Spain. We have a lot of faith in the innovation we’re going to offer this year, the aim being to increase our competitiveness and to generate new business opportunities.”
Sustainability is set to be Ilip’s primary focus in 2015, with the company aiming to help clients reduce the weight of their packaging, recyle more and use more responsibly sourced materials.
