Global retailer Carrefour has announced two deputy chief executives will assist current CEO George Plassat as he recovers from surgery.
Chief financial officer Pierre-Jean Sivignon and general secretary Jerome Bedier have both been appointed deputy CEO for the coming weeks until Plassat makes a full recovery, according to Reuters.
Plassat took on the role as CEO in 2012, focusing on emerging markets such as China and Brazil as well as strengthening its positioning in Europe.
