Del Monte Fresh Produce has announced that industry veteran Robert Spence has joined the company as vice-president, sales & product management for the company's tomato & vegetable programme.
“We are very pleased to have Bob on our team,” said Emanuel Lazopoulos, senior vice-president, sales, marketing & product management at Del Monte. “Bob has a track record of successfully managing complex fresh produce businesses and will be instrumental in the continuous expansion of our tomato and vegetable group.
'Bob joins our team of seasoned produce professionals which made Del Monte Fresh Produce one of the most successful diversified producers and marketers of fresh fruit and vegetable products,' he added.
Prior to joining Del Monte Fresh Produce, Spence held leadership positions at, among others, Ready Pack Produce, Pacific Tomato Growers and Chiquita.
