Capespan Golden Wing Mau

Capespan Asia and Golden Wing Mau will consolidate their South Africa supply and procurement divisions under a single structure in Asia. In a press release issued this morning (10 June), Capespan said the move would help the companies “secure critical mass for the whole of Asia.”

A hub for the new entity will be established in Cape Town, which will be managed by a soon-to-be-appointed procurement and supply chain manager. The new structure will also have dedicated logistics co-ordinator based in Cape Town and hands on quality controllers based in four major production regions throughout South Africa, including Limpopo, Durban and Western Cape.

“This specialised initiative will also be working in close collaboration with Capespan South Africa, specifically in terms of a shared utilization of resources in the area offices as well as the leveraging of Capespan’s relationships with some key strategic growers under the mandate of Capespan South Africa,” Capespan announced in a statement.

Capespan currently owns a 25 per cent stake in Chinese-based Golden Wing Mau. The move to consolidate follows Metspan and Capespan Japan’s recent announcement that they will join forces under a management umbrella called Capespan Asia.
