Wonderful Pistachios

The company behind the Wonderful brand has changed its name from Roll Global to The Wonderful Company to align itself with its famous marque and connect with consumers.

Known globally for its Wonderful pistachios and pomegranate juice among other natural products, The Wonderful Company said its new name would unify the firm’s presence in the marketplace and deepen its connection with consumers.

“Now we want the world to know the company behind some of America’s healthiest and most popular brands”, Lynda Resnick, The Wonderful Company co-owner and vice chair, said in a statement.

In line with the company’s new name, some of its operating units have also been re-named: Wonderful Pistachios & Almonds (formerly Paramount Farms); Wonderful Citrus (formerly Paramount Citrus); and Wonderful Orchards (formerly Paramount Farming).

“At The Wonderful Company, we are totally integrated in our approach to farming and distribution — we grow our produce, then harvest, package and deliver to a store near you,” said Stewart Resnick, co-owner and president of The Wonderful Company. “We established this vertical structure to ensure that our quality standards are maintained at every step along the way from our orchards to your tables.”

The Wonderful Company supplies Wonderful-branded pistachios, almonds, citrus and pomegranates, wine, bottled water and flowers, and employs 7,300 people worldwide.

Wonderful Pistachios, Wonderful Halos (mandarins) and POM Wonderful (pomegranates) are number one produce brands in the US.

Announcing its name change, the privately-held US$4bn-company said it holds consumer health at its heart and giving back in its DNA.

In its statement, the firm listed a number of its charitable projects helping its employee communities in California and Fiji, including education and health initiatives.

The Wonderful Company said it had set up and funds a sustainability institute in California to develop solutions to global energy and climate challenges.

“Our company has always believed that success means doing well by doing good,” said Stewart Resnick. “That’s why we place such importance on our extensive community outreach programmes, education and health initiatives and sustainability efforts. We are deeply committed to doing our part to build a better world and inspiring others to do the same.”
