Italian fresh produce packaging specialist Infia has expanded its business with the purchase of facilities adjacent to its headquarters in Emilia-Romagna.
The facilities, which previously belonged to affiliate company Glasspack, are located next to Infia’s main premises in Bertinoro and will lead to a doubling in the size of its covered production site to more than 70,000m2.
From there, Infia already exports a range of plastic packaging for the fruit and vegetable industry, selling more than 3bn units a year to more than 80 countries around the world.
It also has production facilities Valencia, Spain, as well as commercial branches in the UK and Spain. Since 2004, Infia has been part of the LINPAC group, a UK-based fresh food packaging giant.
“This new and important investment is part of a renewed growth process in our plants, both in Italy and Spain, commented Infia president and chief executive Giuseppe Montaguti.
“This process is aimed at increasing the production capacity and most importantly at accelerating innovation in our processes and products.”
