SanLucar has launched a new strawberry pack specially designed for Valentine’s Day. The 400g punnet features a scene of strawberry fields with a heart-shaped transparent window through which the contrasting red of the strawberries can be seen.

“By means of the beautiful colour contrast between the bright red of the strawberry itself and the blue sky above the strawberry fields, the packaging immediately catches the visitor’s eye at the point of sale,” the company said in a press release.

The SanLucar brand campaign always uses pictures of real fields and growers in its advertising and packaging material and in this case Huelva in the south of Spain is shown.

“When the strawberries are ready, only the sweetest ones are harvested by hand directly into the punnets. Thus, this sun-drenched fruit with its innovative packaging are a sweet and healthy Valentine’s Day gift,” the company said.

The campaign is being supported by point-of-sale posters featuring one of the company’s master growers, Genaro Gómez, as well as flyers containing information on the promotion.

The packs are available from 8-14 February in German and Austrian supermarkets.
