Kaki Fresh Nature, the Spanish harvesting and packing branch of Dutch group HillFresh International, has announced the purchase of a young persimmon plant in Spain, working with the Rojo Brillante variety.
“To meet the fast growing demand of our customers the next logical step is to start with our own plant in Spain,' said Pieter de Jong of HillFresh International. 'This way we can control things like quality and food safety.'
Several years, ago Kaki Fresh entered the world of persimmon by harvesting at fruit plants, packing the product and selling it, and the group now also controls the growing process.
Because of a special harvesting method, Kaki Fresh Nature is capable of supplying high quality fruit under the HillFresh premium label 'Always Tasty'.
Recently, HillFresh has expanded its kaki plants into the Southern Hemisphere in order to supply the market year-round in the near future.
