Tesco is still under investigation for overstating its profit forecasts 

Three former Tesco executives have been charged with fraud under the ongoing investigation of the retailer by the Serious Fraud Office (SFO).

Former UK managing director Chris Bush, ex-finance director Carl Rogbergand former commercial director John Scouler have been charged with one count of Fraud by Abuse of Position, contrary to section 1 and 4 of the Fraud Act 2006, and one count of False Accounting contrary to s17 Theft Act 1968. The alleged activity occurred between February 2014 and September 2014.

All three were among those reported as suspended from Tesco following revelations that the retailer had overstated its half-year profit forecasts by £250 million.They have been asked to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 22 September 2016. The investigation into Tesco is ongoing.

Scouler is now listed as commercial director at telecommunications company TalkTalk, and Rogberg is MD of retail consultancy firm Church Farm Industries.
