This week, Dutch importer Van der Lans International celebrates its 25th anniversary, having been founded by Jan van der Lans on 30 September 1991.

For the last quarter of a century, the company has been sourcing fruit and vegetables from more than 20 countries, with a focus on imports from the Southern Hemisphere.

The firm controls the entire chain from source to final consumer, handling, distributing and selling to its European customers, and guaranteeing food safety and full transparency.

Van der Lans is marking the occasion with the launch of a new website, which highlights the top quality of its produce range.

“Of course you try to improve all the time and I wanted to create a refreshing website in this special year and I may say that we succeeded to do so,“  said Jan van der Lans. “Twenty-five years is a beautiful age. Experienced enough to have a team with solid roots in this dynamic fresh produce trade. On the other hand, this age implies a young and energetic attitude towards our supplier partners and our valued customers, while facing the challenges of our market.”

Such considerations are implicit within the company’s slogan, ‘Celebrating our first 25 years’. “It feels like we have only just begun,” said Van der Lans.
