leeks

French marketer Prince de Bretagne has announced the availability of large volumes of leeks, as the season in Brittany approaches its peak period.

“From this week, large volumes will be available, in the region of 30 tonnes per day,” the company revealed.

Approximately 5,000 tonnes are anticipated over the course of the season, in addition to 800 tonnes of organic leeks.

“For the past two years, Prince de Bretagne’s producers have reinforced their specifications with the addition of a new category, A+, to offer a top-of-the-range leek,” the company stated. “All of Prince de Bretagne’s leeks are checked at one of two packing stations, one of which handles 90 per cent of supplies. This guarantees great homogeneity in sizing and grading.”
