OctoFrost Innotec

Swedish individual quick freezing (IQF) freezer tunnel specialist Octofrost Group has announced the acquisition of 100 per cent of the shares of Innotec Systems BV.

Netherlands-based Innotec is a manufacturer of customised industrial food processing machinery and industrial food processing lines, with strong expertise in thermal processes such as blanching, cooking and chilling.

The acquisition means that Octofrost is becoming a key player in supplying complete IQF processing lines, the group explained.

Ruben Larsson, the founder of Octofrost, sees the move as a big step forward for both companies and for the international food industry as a whole.

“Taking over Innotec was our natural response to the needs of the market,' he explained. 'This brings a number of advantages for food processors and the most significant one is that from now on there will be no further discussions whom has all the responsibility for the good operation of the complete line. It is us.”

Octofrost CEO Rasmus Larsson emphasised how the deal will both deepen and broaden the expertise in food processing application and thermal treatment.

“We can now optimise the entire line for the best final result, highest yield and lowest energy consumption, bringing the highest value to our customers,' he outlined. 'Our after sales activities also benefit from the scale up in the organisation and we can be closer to our customers.'

Both Octofrost and Innotec Systems are frontline companies in food processing, designing innovative equipment which makes it possible to obtain a final product with an appetising appearance, natural bite, and natural smell and taste.
