Asia Fruit Logistica underlined its position as the premier continental trade show for Asia’s fresh produce business in 2017, attracting more than 13,000 high-quality visitors from 76 different countries on 6-8 September.

Visitor numbers were up by 16 per cent on the previous year. Some 70 per cent of them came from Asia, representing 20 different markets across the Asia-Pacific region.

Visitors to Asia Fruit Logistica 2017 took in a show that had expanded by almost a third compared with the previous edition. Exhibitor numbers increased by more than 150, with a total of 813 exhibitors from 43 different countries taking part.

“This year we noticed that the exhibition has grown in terms of exhibitors and also visitors,” said Augusto Renella of Italian exhibitor Naturitalia at Asia Fruit Logistica 2017. “From our point of view this is a very important moment for the fruit and vegetable industry in Asia and [Asia Fruit Logistica] is a must-have event [if you want] to be in the market, introduce new products, know about new trends and so on.”

Visitors and exhibitors can look forward to an even bigger show in 2018. It all gets under way on Tuesday 4 September with Asiafruit Congress, Asia’s premier fresh produce conference.

The perfect primer to Asia Fruit Logistica, Asiafruit Congress celebrates its 20th Anniversary in 2018. Asia’s fresh produce business has enjoyed standout growth since Asiafruit Congress launched in 1998.

In the 20 years to 2016, collective fresh fruit imports to key Asian markets from all sources within and outside Asia, have increased by 163 per cent, to 10.8m tonnes, according to Fresh Intelligence Consulting, which provides analysis for the Asiafruit Congress Statistics Handbook. Meanwhile, fresh fruit exports to all destinations from the key Asian markets, albeit mostly in and around Asia, increased 195 per cent to 7.6m tonnes in the two decades.

With most of the world’s population and economic growth focused on Asia, there is huge untapped potential for further expansion over the next 20 years. Asia Fruit Logistica is the best place to discover those opportunities.

Exhibitors are advised to register now to secure their space.
