During 12-15 February, Launceston's Country Club Tasmania will play host to BerryQuest International 2018.

A line up of industry speakers from around the world will offer their advice and expertise on topics like export trends, consumer habits, harvest and disease management, as well as marketing and food safety.

Dr Chad Finn, a research geneticist from the United States Department of Agriculture will be on hand to discuss his berry breeding program based in Corvallis, Oregon that involves raspberries, blackberries, blueberries and strawberries. He will also be sharing his vision for the future of berry breeding requirements.

Other industry voices like Marion Regan from Hugh Lowe Farms in Kent will be giving insights into international industries, balanced by Jon Gleeson from Driscolls who will comment on the domestic market.

For retail insights, there will be a discussion panel of industry stakeholders including Coles and Woolworths, alongside a trade exhibit of over 30 companies displaying information and examples.

The conference will be followed by tours around some of Tasmania’s leading berry farms.
