Driscolls Lusa strawberries

Driscoll’s EMEA is celebrating the glasshouse strawberry harvest in the Netherlands, a project made possible by the Driscoll's Lusa – a unique strawberry variety that 'promises to bring pure joy to the berry consumer'.

Large in size and sweet in flavour, Lusa strawberries are known for their freshness but also an advantageous glasshouse yield curve, and a March to July growing window, the group noted.

'Through extensive breeding programmes, Driscoll’s continuously strives to develop new, high performance berry varieties across the board,' the company said. 'Raspberry, blackberry, blueberry or strawberry, the Driscoll's Lusa is just one of the ways that Driscoll’s successfully meets the high standards of the discerning berry consumer.

'From The Netherlands and Morocco, to Portugal and Germany, Driscoll’s top priority is the development of unique berry varieties that deliver superior taste, eye-catching colour, and the longest shelf life,' Driscoll's added. 'To guarantee that familiar Driscoll’s sweetness, Driscoll’s follows the sun to places where conditions are optimal, as well as matching the best variety to region to maximise potential.'
