Grading technology specialist Greefa has opened a new subsidiary in New Zealand.

Adding to the company’s headquarters in the Netherlands and its subsidiary in South Tyrol, Italy, Greefa Australasia has been positioned to support an increasing demand for high-tech sorting and packaging systems across Australasia.

“We anticipate the next few years to be years of growth, and we are excited to be investing in the Australasian region to continue our momentum in these important markets,” said Dick Verkade, Greefa’s manager of marketing and sales.

Post-harvest industry veteran Craig Hart has come onboard to serve as Greefa’s Australasian business development manager.

Along with building the company’s footprint throughout Australia and New Zealand, Hart will also be tasked with developing an Australasian support network to provide a close partnership-based relationship with each Greefa customer.

“Greefa provides a compelling option to the market here with robust, quality design and build, coupled with external and internal quality measuring systems and exceptionally gentle fruit handling,'Hart said.

Hart will work with Greefa’s export manager, Dick van de Kop, to service customers in the region.

“[Hart] has spent his career working and building relationships within the New Zealand and Australian produce industry,“ said Verkade, adding that he has a successful track record. “We are pleased to welcome Craig to the Greefa family.”
