The new Common Footprint Quality (CFQ) standard will be officially launched on Wednesday 5 February at Fruit Logistica, a new quality standard for fruit and vegetable boxes made of corrugated cardboard and solid board.

According to the Fresh Produce Centre, which represents the interests of businesses involved in the sale and marketing of fruit and vegetables, boxes with the CFQ logo will be seen as optimal for the distribution and transport of fruit and vegetables.

'The new CFQ standard is the quality standard in Europe for fruit and vegetables boxes made from corrugated cardboard and solid board,' the group noted. 'These boxes are optimised for the distribution and transport of fruit and vegetables.

'On Wednesday 5 February both the standard and the CFQ website will be launched. On this website you soon will be able to read all the information about the CFQ standard. A digital portal has also been developed where suppliers can consult the standardised dimensions and specifications of the boxes.'
