South Tyrol-based producer-marketer KIKU has successfully defended its KIKU trademark after a court ruling stated that Reinhard Kaneppele & Co Nursery had no right to use the trademark.
The Court of Bolzano ruled that KIKU is the sole and legitimate holder of the trademark and that the defendant has no right to use the KIKU name.
Kaneppele, which was ordered to pay damages plus costs, has opted to appeal the decision, with a hearing set to take place some time next year.
The facility has 24 ripening cells on two levels and two packaging lines with a capacity of 45 trays per minute
