Royal Ahold, the Netherlands-based retail group, has announced the nomination of a new appointment to its supervisory board.
Ben Noteboom, chief executive officer and chairman of Randstad Holding nv, has been selected as the group's nomination for the board position.
The retailer said in a statement that Mr Noteboom's nomination would be on the agenda of Ahold's next general meeting of shareholders, to be held on 28 April 2009.
The supervisory board is currently made up of René Dahan (chairman, chairman of the selection and appointment committee), Tom de Swaan (vice-chairman, chairman of the audit committee), Derek Doijer (chariman of the renumeration committee), Karen de Segundo, Stephanie Shern, Judith Sprieser and Mark McGrath.
