Swiss logistics group Kuehne & Nagel has announced that Tobias Jerschke, 35, has taken over as the managing director of company's Polish sector.

Mr Jerschke has been with the company since 1998, working in the central corporate development department in Switzerland before moving on to roles as national manager of France and director for sales and marketing in south west Europe.

'Following the early development of our activities in eastern Europe in the 1990s, we have been able to continually expand our services and enlarge our customer base in Poland,' said Bob Mihok, regional manager eastern Europe for Kuehne & Nagel. 'We are convinced that under Tobias Jerschke's leadership our future growth in Poland will accelerate and that our network and service portfolio will be further complemented.'

Poland is seen as a key area of the group's eastern European region, with 14 locations covering more than 160,000m2 of warehouse space and a staff of approximately 1,600.
