Cargo carrier Emirates Sky Cargo has expanded its operations in its growing central European sector by appointing Cargo Sales Agencies in Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary.

The group has signed a deal with European Cargo Service company Globe Air Cargo to sell cargo capacity on freighters and in the bellyholds of its passenger aircraft.

'Emirates SkyCargo is pleased to appoint Globe Air Cargo to leverage the significant opportunities available in central Europe,' said Emirates' manager of network cargo sales development Prakash Nair. 'We operate an extensive trucking network throughout the region, transporting cargo from offline points to stations that we serve directly, and look forward to working with our new partners to grow our business there.'

Heiner Sass, managing director at Globe Air Cargo responsible for Romania and Bulgaria, said: 'Globe Air Cargo is proud to represent a carrier of Emirates SkyCargo's eminence. We look forward to working together to better serve shippers in these expanding markets.'

Emirates added that cargo from Hungary and Romania would be mainly trucked to Vienna, with Bulgarian traffic moving via Istanbul and Athens.
