UK-based logistics group British Airways (BA) World Cargo has announced a reduction to its current fuel surcharge, with effect from 29 December 2008.

The new rate will stand at £0.44/US$0.65/€0.65, down from the recently announced change of £0.48/US$0.70/€0.70 which came into force on 15 December.

'We are reducing the fuel surcharge following further decreases in fuelprices,' said Adam Carson, senior manager of revenue management atBritish Airways World Cargo.

BA's fuel surcharge index is updated on a weekly basis.
