California-based fresh produce group Sun World has revealed that Gordon Robertson has been handed the post of vice-president for sales and marketing, replacing Michael Aiten.

Mr Robertson, who has joined the group from Campbell Soup Co. where he spent 20 years, will assume responsibility for all US and international sales as well as overseeing marketing activities and staff.

'Gordon brings strong food industry knowledge, a passion for managing sales professionals and a desire for Sun World to exceed its customers and consumers' expectations,' said the group's chief marketing officer David Marguleas.

Michael Aiten has assumed a new role as Sun World's senior vice-president of retail merchandising, where he will support the group's North American retail clientele in promoting brands and products.

'Our Customers will benefit from Mike's creativity and rich knowledge of Sun World's distinctive product line, and Gordon's passion and knowledge of the food industry,' Mr Marguleas added. 'We believe these moves will position Sun World for greater succession the future with our customers.'
