Leading UK-based packaging solution provider Sirane has called on the European packaging sector to make the most of its technical and creative abilities to help manufacturers and clients survive the economic downturn.

Sirane director Simon Balderson said the packaging sector could achieve cost savings to meet clients’ reduced budgets by being creative, innovate and making new products that are fit for purpose.

“Like everyone else right now we are talking to many clients about packaging reduction and rationalisation, packaging downsizing and light-weighting,” he explained.

Despite the credit crunch, Mr Balderson said the solutions provider was moving into new markets for 2009 and had appointed sales agents for the Netherlands, Germany and Poland.
